What an incredible movie I saw this weekend! A must see! Delves beautifully into the relationships between fathers and sons and into the relationships we form in our lives. Most significantly though, the fine line between forgiveness and revenge….the thin line we teeter on and the forces that push us over the line.
In A Better World“One of Europe’s most dynamic directors, Susanne Bier (Brothers, Open Hearts, After the Wedding), returns with an intense drama about the choice between revenge and forgiveness.
The film parallels the lives of two Danish families, both with teenage boys grappling with heartache and loss. When the boys become friends, the actions they take in dealing with their emotional confusion leads to a brutal wakeup call for their families.
Lined with humane optimism, poignantly written and shot and undeniably haunting, this richly weaved tapestry starkly examines the shaky underpinning of ideals in times of crisis.
A gripping meditation on the choices between pacifism and violence that are faced in so-called civilised society. SCREEN DAILY”
