Sometimes life just seems so hard, and so insurmountable…it’s time like this that the sun hits your face in a certain way, or a beautiful sunset sends warm and fuzzies running through you and you can find a reason to smile. The reasons are everywhere :)

My 2011 resolution is to be more mindful….of everything and everyone. Of every thought that flows through my brain, of every feeling i allow myself to feel. Of every action and its consequences….of every breath.

What an incredible movie I saw this weekend! A must see! Delves beautifully into the relationships between fathers and sons and into the relationships we form in our lives. Most significantly though, the fine line between forgiveness and revenge….the thin line we teeter on and the forces that push us over the line.
In A Better World
“One of Europe’s most dynamic directors, Susanne Bier (Brothers, Open Hearts, After the Wedding), returns with an intense drama about the choice between revenge and forgiveness. The film parallels the lives of two Danish families, both with teenage boys grappling with heartache and loss. When the boys become friends, the actions they take in dealing with their emotional confusion leads to a brutal wakeup call for their families.Lined with humane optimism, poignantly written and shot and undeniably haunting, this richly weaved tapestry starkly examines the shaky underpinning of ideals in times of crisis. A gripping meditation on the choices between pacifism and violence that are faced in so-called civilised society. SCREEN DAILY”

The quest is to be liberated from the negative, which is really our own will to nothingness. And once having said yes to the instant, the affirmation is contagious. It bursts into a chain of affirmations that knows no limit. To say yes to one instant is to say yes to all of existence.

"MEN WANTED: FOR HAZARDOUS JOURNEY. SMALL WAGES, BITTER COLD, LONG MONTHS OF COMPLETE DARKNESS, CONSTANT DANGER, SAFE RETURN DOUBTFUL. HONOUR AND RECOGNITION IN CASE OF SUCCESS. SIR ERNEST SHACKLETON"

Advertisement placed in London newspapers for Shackleton’s trip to Antarctica, 1914 (via invisiblestories)

Mindblowing really what they went through back then. My man is in Antarctica now and the situation is still similar…constant danger, hazardous journey, long months of darkness etc. Come home soon babe.
